Sunday’s rains made Mike Edwards wait a day, but Monday morning he came back to win the Summit Racing NHRA Southern Nationals.
Edwards outran points leader Jeg Coughlin for his first Pro Stock victory of the season.
“It doesn’t matter if you win on Sunday or Monday,’’ Edwards said. “You can’t make a mistake and win in this class.”
The event’s other three major categories were decided late Sunday night with Morgan Lucas winning Top Fuel, Jack Beckman capturing Funny Car and Eddie Krawiec winning the Pro Stock Motorcycle class.
