A strong opening qualifying run Sunday ended any doubts Justin Humphreys had about not making the U.S. Nationals Pro Stock starting line-up Monday at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
Humphreys and the RaceRedi Motorsports Dodge covered the 1320 feet in 6.687 seconds at 207.05 mph.
“We are glad we qualified for the race,” said a relieved Humphreys. “Unfortunately, we don’t get lane choice, but we hope that won’t matter.”
His first-round foe is Kurt Johnson (No. 5, 6.666 at 207.72 mph. “We always seem to have good battle,” Humphreys said.
