INDIANAPOLIS—Justin Humphreys opened qualifying Friday with a strong performance of 6.735 seconds at 204.54 mph to claim the No. 4 position for Monday’s Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
“That was a good run for the first session, but the tires spun a little and we lost some time early in the run,” Humphreys said. “We still have four more runs and we should get better.
Two runs are on tap Saturday and two more Sunday.
