Morgan Lucas Qualifies In The No. 15 Slot At Norwalk

NORWALK, Oh. – Morgan Lucas was narrowly defeated in the first round of eliminations at the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park by Cory McClenathan. Lucas ran a time of 4.668 seconds, 298.07 mph in a tight race that showed him in the lead around 1,000 feet of the measured 1,320 before just getting nipped by Cory Mac at the finish strip, who ran a quicker elapsed time of 4.640 seconds, 308.64 mph. The margin of victory was. 017-thousandths of a second.
He qualified in the No. 15 slot with a time of 6.111 seconds, 216.86 mph.
Lucas will remain in the No. 11 position in the NHRA POWERade Top Fuel points standing with 482 points after the completion of 12 events.
The next NHRA National event following the Norwalk race will be the beginning of the ‘Western Swing’ which starts with the 29th annual Mopar Mile-High Nationals at the scenic Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado.
