Summit Racing driver Jason Line completed another solid qualifying effort on Saturday, capturing the sixth starting position for Sunday’s final eliminations of the Mopar Mile-High Nationals in Denver, Colo.
After opening with the fifth-quickest pass of the early session at 7.008-seconds with a top speed of 195.87 mph, the current Pro Stock championship points leader finished with a representative 7.010-second, 195.73 mph run on his final attempt at Bandimere Speedway, setting the stage for a first-round encounter with veteran Greg Stanfield.
“We definitely made progress with my Summit Racing Pontiac today, but we still have some work to do on both Greg’s (teammate Anderson, who starts eighth) and my cars before the first round tomorrow,” said Line. “We’re still not running as well as we should, and need to find out why, so we can fix whatever’s wrong and give us a shot at winning tomorrow.
“We have a lot of data to look at, as well as our notes from previous races here at Bandimere, so we’ll have plenty of information to draw from and come up with a game plan for the first round.”
“We definitely have all the pieces of the puzzle, and it’s up to us to figure out how to put it together. It certainly won’t be easy, but if there is one crew capable of putting it all together, it’s this KB Racing team, and we’re going to give it our best shot. Hopefully, things will work in our favor.”
