Summit Racing Pro Stock standout Jason Line completed a very impressive qualifying performance on Saturday, capturing the second starting position for Sunday’s final eliminations of the Summit Racing Equipment Southern NHRA Nationals in Atlanta, GA.
In each of the four sessions at Atlanta Dragway, Line’s time was among the top three of the twenty cars attempting to qualify, highlighted by his 6.608-second, 207.91 mph best on Saturday morning. Although this performance earned the current championship points leader a total of eight bonus points, he remained focused on finding ways to improve his race car’s performance even further for race day.
“I’m pretty happy with this Summit Racing Team’s performance in qualifying,” said Line. “Throughout all four rounds, we just kept working on it, trying to make it better.
Although we still have a few things left to do, we certainly have a good car for tomorrow. Now it’s up to us to capitalize on it.
“Looking at the times from the last two sessions, it seems lane choice will be very important, so we will have to make sure and keep it through all four rounds. Thanks to a tremendous effort by our team, our Summit Racing Pontiac is running well, and Greg (teammate Anderson) and I are on opposite sides of the ladder, so we have as good a chance as anyone to end the day in the winner’s circle celebrating with all of our friends from Summit. I’m ready to win my first race in Atlanta.”
