Team Finley Racing’s primary driver, 15-year-old Chad Finley is still recovering from a severe break to his Left Thumb suffered in a crash at the Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway back on September 1, 2007. The break to Finley’s thumb tore it completely away from the joint, forcing the DeWitt, Michigan teenager to miss his second consecutive race.
On September 9, 2007 Columbus, Ohio veteran, Robbie Pyle sported the #25 colors for the 1st annual Bob Miler Memorial 125 at the Grundy County (IL) Speedway and finished a solid Ninth after running in the Top Five for the first 1/3 of the event before having to pit with a flat tire.
Pyle made his way back through the field to secure a Top 10 finish and more importantly, keep Team Finley Racing in the 12th spot in the ASA Late Model Series Northern Division Owners Point Standings. With the young Finley out of commission for a second straight race, Team Finley Racing Car Owner and Crew Chief went searching for a second replacement.
With one of the most important races of the season; The North VS South Shootout/World Cup 200 at the famed wicked fast high-banks of the I-70 (MO) Speedway in Odessa, Missouri on Saturday and Sunday September 22-23, 2007 on the calendar, Finley knew that with nearly 40 drivers pre entered, he would need a pilot who knew his way around the fast 0.543 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval and he believes he’s found the perfect driver!
17-year-old Mike Vannoy Jr., winner of the last two weekly ASA Late Model Division Features at the Show-Me State speed plant, including the 100-lap Season Championships Feature back on September 8, 2007 will step in and fill the void left by Finley. The Kansas City, Missouri driver will sport the Carquest Auto Parts #25 colors for Team Finley Racing this weekend during the 200-lap Feature at his home track.
