The 2007 Asa Late Model Series Northern Division Season For Alex Kennedy Was Full Of So Many Firsts For This Talented 15-year-old From Aztec, New Mexico. Racing is a game of inches and sometimes bad luck strikes at a moment’s notice.
On October 6, 2007 at the LaCrosse (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway those inches were not in Alex Kennedy’s favor as Trent Snyder got into the side of his car and a cut tire ended Alex’s night early with a hard crash in turn one.
“I lost a tire and tried to keep the car off the wall,” said Alex after the crash. “It hit pretty hard but my 5K team builds safe cars as well as fast ones!” In a crazy Oktoberfest race weekend Alex made the field on time as he watched Challenge Division Champion Travis Dassow along with Challenge Division winners Charlie Menard and Peter Cozzolino fail to qualify!
Alex was moving into the top ten from his 18th starting position when trouble hit not once but twice! On a restart Alex could not avoid a car that abruptly slowed causing minor damage to the front of his Chevy Monte Carlo.
