Andrew McKee Claims Fever Win

A determined Andrew McKee held off a late race charge to score the Fever 4 win during week three of Wednesday Night Fever at Stateline Speedway. In an extended race, last lap strategy was the winning key.

McKee, contesting a full year run at the championship, took the lead from dash winner Matt Schoen midway through the 30-lap race. With Schoen holding second, challengers were stuck battling to the front as McKee grew his lead.

First week winner Colton Garber with quick qualifier Rich Hatton in tow drove to the outside of Schoen in pursuit of the leader with five laps to go. Garber, reached McKee, the leader, on the last lap but was unable to find away around as the eventual winner guarded the top spot.

For McKee the win was his first of the of the season, the third different winner of the year. Garber finished second, Hatton third, Schoen held for fourth with point’s leader Tom Plybon rounding out the top five.

Les Billings won a dash. Bruce Garber and Ron Edwards won heats.
