Southern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts’ Seventh Event of 10 Points Events, 11 Overall of the 2007 Schedule is now complete. The 0.375 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the New Senoia (GA) Raceway in Senoia, Georgia served as hosts for the Seventh race of the 2007 season; The Senoia 125 Presented by FLF Racecars.
The 125-lap Feature also served as Day Two of the Georgia Doubleheader Weekend as Day One was the night before at the South Georgia (GA) Motorsports Park in Cecil, Georgia. Jeff Choquette started on the pole and led all 125 laps to score his first career ASALMS Feature Win in the South Georgia 125 Presented by McDonald’s Restaurants.
The next night in Senoia, Georgia; An emerging star shined brightly on Day Two of the Georgia Doubleheader Weekend as 17-year-old John Wes Townley, from near-by Watkinsville, Georgia took the lead from Travis Cope on Lap 85 and then had to fight off several challenges from his own teammate and fellow Peach State driver, Beau Slocumb to go on and win his first career ASALMS Feature!
The ASALMS Southern Division will have little time to prepare for their next event as it is the combined Ninth Race of the 2007 Season in the ASALMS Northern Division as well as the Eighth Race of the 2007 Season in the ASALMS Southern Division; The North VS South Shootout/World Cup 200!
The second annual combined event featuring the ASALMS Northern and Southern Division cars and stars going head to head will commence on Saturday and Sunday September 22-23, 2007 at the wicked fast 0.533 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval of the I-70 (MO) Speedway, located East of Kansas City in Odessa, Missouri. I-70 will host one of the biggest and most pivotal events of the 2007 season for the ASALMS Northern and Southern Divisions’.
