This year’s 99-lap feature event is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will draw a large field of drivers from all over the country. The Bobby Labonte Racing Team has been looking forward to this event ever since the schedule was released earlier this year. “Jason, Matt, Regan and Ben have been working hard this week to make sure our cars are ready to defend our win from last year. Were excited to go back as the defending race winner”, stated Earl.
Earl and the team competed at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD last weekend in a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Earl finished 2nd in his heat race and was running in the top ten in the feature event when a left front brake rotor broke ending his night. Earl finished a disappointing 21st. Earl has one win on the series in 2007 and is currently 9th 130 points out of first place in a tight points battle among the top ten drivers.
After this weekends series event in Kentucky Earl and the series will compete at the Lucas Oil Speedway on May11-12th in Wheatland, MO. The “Diamond of Dirt” series sanctioned event will pay $25,000 to the winner and an additional $10,000 bonus to a driver that wins the event if that driver has perfect attendance on the series in 2007. There are currently 19 drivers eligible for this bonus including Pearson Jr.
