Bryan Silas would trade his recent string of strong ARCA SIM Factory qualifying runs for a one top-five finish. While dreams do come true, Silas would like to extend that dream this week at Kentucky Speedway by producing another strong starting position and backing it up with a career best in Friday’s WLWT Channel 5-150.

Last weekend at Berlin Raceway, Silas qualified a short track career best seventh, followed in tune with a fourth place qualifying effort at Pocono Raceway last month. While the qualifying efforts look good, Silas knows he needs to shake the monkey off his back and put himself back in the top-10.

He hopes it starts with the 13th ARCA event of the season at Kentucky Speedway.

“We’ve been good all year, we really have, ” said Silas. “I couldn’t ask for a better group to be associated with. We’ve stepped up our program. Our qualifying lineup is getting better, the guys are doing great with the pit stops, but for some reason we just don’t rack in the finishes we need. Enough is enough. We’re aiming for a top-10 on Friday and don’t plan to hold anything back. ”

Earlier this year, Silas had a solid run going at Kentucky Speedway in May. After qualifying a solid 18th, Silas grabbed the wheel and maneuvered his No. 11 Chevrolet into the top-15. Unfortunately, a late race incident spoiled the chances for a good finish. This time around, Silas hopes that his bad luck is out the window and his third top-10 finish etches its way into his racing resume.

“We have the capabilities to unload strong this weekend and I think we will. As everyone has noticed our speedway program has really stepped it up a notch. That’s bad news for the rest of the competition. The chemistry is really starting to take effect and it’s only a matter of time before we are up their battling for the win. ”

Nortrax, Shell Rotella T, Holland Pump and Palm Beach Grading (PBG) will all sponsor the No. 11 Chevrolet in the 13th ARCA event held at Kentucky Speedway.

“Kentucky is an important race for our sponsors. The race is televised and we need to get our car up front and grab everyone’s attention. We’re planning on attracting the same type of attention we received at Iowa Speedway and if we can do that, it will be a memorable weekend for us all, ” Silas added.

With his 16th place finish last Saturday at Berlin Raceway, Silas remains 11th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship standings just 40 points from returning to the top-10.

“Our main goal this week is to notch a good finish, but also grab as many points as we can. This season has been very competitive and I don’t see any relief in sight. We just have to continue with what we are doing and I’m sure come seasons end, we’ll be sitting comfortably in the top-10, ” Silas mentioned.

Heading into Kentucky, Silas has 18 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with a career best finish of eighth at Salem Speedway (April 2007) while holding an additional top-10 performance at USA International Speedway (March 2007). He holds a career best short track time trials effort of seventh at Berlin Raceway (July 2007). A fourth place qualifying effort at Pocono Raceway (June 2007) is Silas’s best speedway run to date. He has controlled the ARCA field for 15 laps in one race.
