Chub Frank will take his ‘Chubzilla’ nickname to a whole new level during the prestigious World 100 weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
The superstar driver from Bear Lake, Pa., is readying a special-edition color and graphics package on his familiar No. 1* dirt Late Model for the Sept. 7-8 World 100 – a unique, eye-catching scheme that will play off his ‘Chubzilla’ alter-ego.
Chub, who won the World 100 in 2004, will change his car’s dominant color to bright green for the weekend. But that’s not all – dinosaur-like ‘scales’ will adorn the machine, and the nosepiece of the car will sport headlight stickers that look like the mean eyes of a hungry monster.
“We’re excited to bring out a special car for the World 100, ” said Chub, whose Custom Engine-powered Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Rocket mount carries sponsorship from Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports and Lake Shore Paving. “The World 100 is the biggest dirt Late Model race of the year, so it’s the perfect time to do something different with our car. ”
A variety of brand-new Chub Frank merchandise will be available throughout the World 100 weekend at the Chub Frank/Slavic Custom Shirts & Decals trailer outside turns one and two, including green-themed t-shirts, hats and other apparel; a limited number of replica ‘mini-doors’; and a limited-edition run of 1/64th- and 1/24th-scale ADC die-cast cars.
The die-cast run of Chub’s World 100 car will number just 500 of each size. Each car will be individually numbered to assure its authenticity.
Chub’s fans will get a first chance to purchase his World 100-themed merchandise this weekend at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa., where the Chub/Slavic merchandise trailer will be fully stocked with new green t-shirts and an initial supply of die-cast cars. Ron Slavic has already received 125 of each size die-cast car and will have them available for purchase on both Saturday (Sept. 1) and Sunday (Sept. 2) of Tri-City’s ‘Oil Region Labor Day Classic’ for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
