“Crazy Taxi” Piloted by Darryl Carillio Captures Main Event Win For The Bump To Pass Cla

The “Crazy Taxi” piloted by driver Darryl Carillio captured the main event win for the Bump to Pass class during Wednesday Night Fever at Stateline Speedway. Carillio along with Fever 4 driver Tom Plybon and Road Runner competitor Ryan Potts were back in the top spot after numerous wins this season.

Carillio, who won last week’s event, started at the rear of the field and was spun from the get go. Battles at the front of the pack and early cautions for hard collisions, allowed Carillio to move towards the front jumping past leader and heat winner Adam Osborn on a restart.

After developing a strong lead, Carillio fell back to third position. Laps winding down Carillio nudged past Aaron Clother to take the lead and win over heat winner Robby Cartwright and dash winner John Hollingsworth. Rookie Travis Cox finished fourth, Bob Willis fifth. The win was Carillio’s fourth of the season.

Yellow flags ruled the Fever 4 30-lap main event. But the cautions didn’t stop Spokane’s Tom Plybon from gaining the top spot and win. Plybon held off fast time setter Matt Hatton in a 10-lap side-by-side duel with Plybon inching out the win at the start finish line.

The win was Plybon’s third of the season, fourth for the team and co-driver Andy Brown. Hatton finished second followed by heat winner Mel Auckerman, Rusty Webb, and Andrew McKee.

KC Garber and Terry Auckerman won dashes. Craig O’Neal won a heat race.

Ryan Potts out drove Road Runner race leader Steve Mathers and Roman Gibson to score his second A main event victory of the year. Division point’s leader Russell Syverson finished forth followed by Jamie Allen and Heath Denson.

Dash and heat winner Brian Shaw won the 15-lap B main. Treven Tarr won his second C Main event. Bryan Allen, Lance Morehouse and Derek Collarusso won dashes.

Chuck Davidson, Bernie Beard, and Scott Rupert won heats.

April INSSA race winner Dave Garber looks to repeat his victory leading the point standings against North Idaho’s Corey Allard and other area drivers.
