The start of the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season is here and Roger Carter II is eager to kick off his inaugural run in solid fashion.
Carter-2-Motorsports with driver Roger Carter II announced last December that they will run for the ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers championship as well as take a stab at the Rookie-of-the-Year honors hopes to repeat the success of fellow ARCA rookie competitors Ryan Howard, Blake Bjorklund, Justin Allgaier and Ryan Foster.
“We’ve been waiting a long time for this week, †said rookie driver Roger Carter II. “Our team has been concentrating on this race since we announced our plans for the 2007 season. â€
“Carter-2-Motorsports has been very lucky to have such great associate sponsors join our plan for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, †added Carter II. “We are progressively trying to obtain additional sponsors to join our fleet and make our first season a memorable one. â€
“Daytona is probably going to be one of our biggest battles this season, †Carter II spoke. “There are a lot of good teams with a lot of backing and some major NASCAR support; they will be tough to beat. However, our team is heading to the track vowing to give nothing but 150 percent both on and off the track. When we’re not competing on the track, we’ll be communicating within our team going over options to make our Dodge Charger faster. I have faith in my crew and I have faith in myself, I think we’re going to be okay. It’s important to have a solid run at Daytona so we can have some early momentum into the season and heading into Lakeland. â€
The team will utilize the No. 48 this season in competition. The number has a lot of meaning to the Carter-2-Motorsports team. James Hylton who is known as an ARCA legend and NASCAR icon has a close friendship to driver Roger Carter II and the duo will unite for the first time on the same team this season.
“Having James as a part of this team is unforgettable, †smiled Carter II. “James forever in my eyes is a hero to many in the racing community. He can bring a lot of knowledge and guidance to this team. He has been helping out at the shop a lot during the off season and I’m just glad to have him around. â€
