Derek Thorn is glad there were only two weeks off since the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division was last in action at Berlin Raceway. This week Derek and his 5K Motorsports team are ready to take on the historic Cayuga Speedway Park north of the border in Ontario, Canada.
“This track holds a lot of racing history, ” Said Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie Point’s Leader Derek Thorn. “Crew Chief Chris Purdy is great at setting my car up so we will learn a lot in practice and come out ready! “
Derek won at another of the historic tracks on the circuit this season in the ASALMS Challenge Division when he brought home the guitar at the Fairgrounds in Nashville. Now Derek Thorn looks to make history as the series heads into Canada for the first time ever. The field will take the green flag for the Canada 200 at Cayuga Speedway Park on June 30th at 9:30pm EST.
As for Thorn’s 5K Motorsports teammate, Kris Stump; Have you ever had one of those years you would rather forget? The best way to make bad memories go away is to create better memories to drown them out! That is the game plan for Kris Stump and his 5K Motorsports team heading into the second half of the 2007 season.
