One driver in the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts hopes to be at least one of those drivers with the word “teen” in his age to finish up in the higher ranks of the 2007 ASALMS Southern Division Season.
For the remainder of the 2007 season, 17-year-old Devan Hall is making a run for the ASALMS Southern Division Rookie of the Year title. The Leesburg, Georgia rookie’s quest for the Freshman title continued back on Saturday May 5, 2007 at his home track of the Watermelon Capital (GA) Speedway in Cordele, Georgia for the Watermelon Bowl 125.
After flirting with the Top 10 in Practice amongst the ASALMS South record 43 entries on hand, Hall would go on to Qualify solidly in the field in 11th and would start the extended distance 125-lap Feature from the inside of the Sixth Row. Unfortunately his night was cut short in the Feature as a Lap Six Accident in Turn Four ended his night prematurely.
“We went to Cordele with high hopes as it is my home track. We were very good in practice on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Our car was very good in qualifying, just a little loose off of the turns. ” Stated Hall as he reflected on his weekend close to home.
