KRYSTAL Racing Space Air have returned home after a disappointing round of the Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Championship at Silverstone. While Lee Jackson (22) managed to bring his Yamaha R1 home in ninth spot, Paul Veazey (33) finished up 33rd in a race cut short by an accident on Lap 11.
Jackson had qualified 13th for Sunday afternoon’s 15 lap race around the famous Northamptonshire circuit, and managed to make a good start, jumping up to tenth position by the end of the first lap. By lap six, the 32-year-old from Lincoln had made it up to ninth place, but his charge was cut short when the safety car was deployed to clear up the debris from a crash further down the field.
When the safety car went in at the end of the ninth lap, Lee was soon back on the case, and was looking likely to make up even more spots when another crash on the 11th lap brought out the red flag. With the race being just over two-thirds gone, it was called a result.
