Drivers will have twice the incentive to race hard at East Carolina Motor Speedway Saturday when the track will award double points in all divisions.
In action will be the limited late model stock, stock look-alike, modified street, super stock 4-cylinder, pure stock 4-cylinder and DOE Motorsports UCAR divisions. Saturday will also be Shriners Night at the track, with a fundraiser to be held for Shriners Hospitals, which provide orthopedic and burn care to children at no charge.
ECMS officials have also decided to hold a women’s “powder puff” race but haven’t set a date yet. UCAR machines and front-wheel-drive pure stock 4-cylinder cars will be allowed in the race.
ECMS is west of Robersonville on U. S. 64 Alternate. Pits open at 3 p. m. Saturdays, practice begins at 4 p. m., qualifying begins at 6 p. m. and racing begins at 7:30 p. m. Grandstands open at 5 p. m. Pit admission is $20. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 7 to 12 and free for children 6 and under.
