Jenson Button arrived in Shanghai as the clear favourite to win again and was given a boost when the FIA’s International Court of Appeal ruled the double diffuser on his Brawn GP car is legal.
But the Somerset man is refusing to get carried away, insisting there is still a long way to go in the championship.
“I might be favourite but it does not make anything easier,” said Button.
However, following the ICA’s decision to uphold the legality of the component, the seven other teams are now doubling their efforts to make the necessary changes to their cars and make them competitive.

“The Toyota looks competitive but it’s not just them and the Williams that are quick, the Red Bulls are very competitive and I am sure people will get their act together quickly,” he added.
