The kickoff of the 45th consecutive season of stock car racing action at Grandview Speedway, that had been scheduled for Saturday, April 7th, has been delayed a week and will now take place on Saturday, April 14th at 7 p. m.
“We just think that calling off the opener was the right thing to do. The weather forecast is for bitterly cold weather and possible snow showers, ” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “We could have waited to see if Saturday brought a better forecast but that was not likely. In all fairness to the racers, their families, our fans and our employees, we felt that an early decision to postpone the opener would be the best decision.
Everyone can enjoy their Easter weekend and beready for a great opening night on April 14th. ”
