The opener will include the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modifieds and Late Model stock cars with a 40-lapper topping the program for the Modifieds with 29 cars starting the event. The Late Models will highlight their program with a 20 lap feature with 24 cars taking part.
At least 13 events of stock car racing will top the program with spectator gates opening at 5 p. m. and warm-ups getting started about 6:30 p. m. A strong field of racers, more than 70 cars, is expected to take part in the season opener with six time Modified champion Craig VonDohren taking on challenges from past champions Duane Howard, Terry Meitzler and Ray Swinehart. Five time past champion Jeff Strunk had indicated he would be taking part in the season opener but with the change in dates his participation was not confirmed at this time.
Chuck Schutz will be seeking his fourth Late Model championship and will be challenged by the likes of past champions Ron Kline, Randy Stoudt and Jon Geisler along with talented racers such as Brian Shuey, Mike Kellner, Buddy Wharton and a host of others.
Grandview Speedway will also present Saturday night action on April 21st and 28th with the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modifieds and Late Models being the featured attractions.
