19-year-old Matt Hawkins has already left a pretty big impression on the short track world after winning in his USAR Hooters Pro Cup debut. What would be even more impressive is if the young driver could make it two in a row. He will get his chance on Saturday, March 31st, at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
He tuned-up with a win Saturday night in a 150-lap late model race at Lanier National Speedway.
“I am really looking forward to racing at home, ” said Hawkins. “But it’s not really one of my favorite tracks. I think that we will be good, though. I know that Mike (Garvey) has ran really good there in the past when he ran, and hopefully we should have a similar set up this year. ”
