Jack Kalwasinski To Run Select Events Within The ASALMS Northern Division

Highland, Indiana
Feb 23, 2007

Driver Jack Kalwasinski and car owner Nick Trgovich will again team up for another year of late model stock car racing, including participating in selected ASA Late Model Series Northern Division events during the 2007 season.

The Trgovich Racing team enjoyed a successful racing season last year as the Kalwasinski won the Limited Late Lodel division championship at Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana. Kalwasinski captured seven feature victories at the northwest Indiana half-mile paved oval during his championship 2006 season.

The Dyer, Indiana resident, who began racing go karts at the age of nine, has won a total of 22 feature races at Illiana in both Limited Late Model and Mid-American Sportsman division competition since his stock car racing career began in 2000.

2007 will mark the fourth full season that Kalwasinski will drive for Highland, Indiana’s Nick Trgovich. Trgovich, who celebrated his 82nd birthday last September, is a former stock car competitor himself, racing at Illiana when it was a dirt track in the early 1950’s. During his racing days, Trgovich had a winning record with feature wins dating back to 1950.

The team will again enter a Ford Fusion in competition in 2007. A Ford engine prepared by Holbrook Racing Engines in Livonia, Michigan will again power the team’s Howe Racing Enterprises chassis in non-ASALMS competition. Sponsorship help will again come from attorney Stan Jablonski of Merrillville, Indiana.
