Jake ‘The Snake’ Crum, winner of over 350 feature races and 52 championships, has signed with Future Stars in Racing Academy, taking advantage of the Academy’s training in outside-the- car skills for today’s racing world.
The teen driver started racing nine years ago at age six, in karts. “I won, ” said the young racer when asked about his start. The novice driver immediately moved into the top five in points and the family team purchased a new kart. The Cherokee driver from Statesville, N.C. moved on to the Bandolero classes, keeping up his winning record before moving up again to the larger and faster Legends cars. More wins and more championships resulted from the move up.
When asked about his most memorable moment in racing, the youth hesitated only a moment before answering: “the Junior Kahuna at Carnesville, Ga. Because I was running third on the white flag lap and stuck it in there and made it three wide and won the race and won $5,000. ”
