Jay Fogleman: “I am ready for Lakeland this weekend”

For the teams of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup division this weekend’s race at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida will mark the last of many things this season, but for The Works team of Jay Fogleman and the Greased Lightning backed team of Jody Lavender preparations for next season have already begun. While the team may be looking to get a leg up on their fellow competitors for next season neither one of the clean team drivers have over looked this weekend’s Aaron’s 250 nor the possibilities of a win.
“I am ready for Lakeland this weekend and can’t wait to get down there and see what The Works/Mac Tools Ford Fusion can do. I think we should have a really good car for Lakeland because we came down and tested different things to see what we can make happen. Now is a really exciting time of year for us; we are completely focused on the current race, while at the same time we get to work on things that will pay off next year, ” said the veteran Fogleman.
While both clean team drivers Fogleman and Lavender may not be in the lead of the championship battle, it doesn’t mean they are ready to just lie down and settle for second. A friendly battle for JFco Motorsports bragging rights are at stake as well, Lavender currently holds a seven point lead over Fogleman heading into the season finale.
“I don’t want anyone to finish in front of me in the championship standings but especially Jody (Lavender) because then I would have to hear it until next year and I don’t want that to happen, ” said Fogleman with a chuckle.
