Second Is The Best: There’s an old saying, first is the worst and second is the best. For Hollenbeck Motorsports their hoping that saying stays true as the team will attempt to make their second race at the historic track on Sunday. Hollenbeck, who’s has competed on the ARCA tour since 2001 has several laps around the half-mile bullring not only in an event but he has also induced hundreds of laps in intense testing over the year with hopes to surpass his career best finish of 15th occurring in 2003 at Springfield.
Nailing The Hammer: In addition to nailing the hammer or in racing terms, the gas pedal this weekend at Toledo, Hollenbeck can often be seen with a hammer and nails in his hands as he operates a very successful construction company, Spectra Contracting in the Western portion of Michigan.
Hollenbeck Motorsports-Hixson Motorsports, Toledo Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Jim Hollenbeck, driver of the No. 49 Spectra Contracting Ford Fusion
On Rejoining The Series: “We’ve been waiting several months for this weekend and it’s almost here. We’re looking forward to running in Sunday’s race. We’ve worked hard on our Spectra Contracting Ford Fusion and it should pay off this weekend. ”
On Toledo Speedway: “Toledo hasn’t been the kindest to me. I’ve attempted to make the race a couple times and we’ve only made one in 2005. But, this is a new racing year for us, we’ve put a lot of knowledge into our program and I’m hoping for good results all weekend long. ”
On ’07 Schedule: “Nothing is set in stone, but we are looking at five to seven ARCA races this year. We’ll probably attempt Michigan, Berlin, Milwaukee and pick a couple more from there. We’re hunting for a sponsor for our car, so that’s a big project right now, hopefully a good run can give us some headway so we can add to our schedule this season. ”
On The ARCA RE/MAX Series: “It’s a great series. It’s filled with a lot of fun. The officials are great. The other teams are great. If you run into a problem, someone is always there to help. We don’t have the funding to run a whole lot of races, but we do enjoy it because it’s fun even when we’re not in the car. ”
