Joey Miller: “We have a chance to return Country Joe Racing to victory lane on Saturday”

It’s no surprise that Joey Miller is one of over 40 entries for Saturday’s Chicagoland ARCA 200. The 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie-of-the-Year has joined forces with Country Joe Racing for the 20th event on the 2007 schedule looking for the same magic they shared in this event two years ago.
Miller has some momentum rolling into Chicagoland after picking up his first top-10 finish of the season in three starts by crossing the line ninth at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds earlier this week.
Now, switching gears and cars, Miller looks forward to returning to the bigger tracks in search for his sixth career ARCA victory.
“I’m feeling pretty good about going back to Chicagoland, ” said Miller, driver of the No. 32 Red Line Oil Dodge Charger. “The track has been relatively good to me and I know Country Joe Racing’s intermediate program has been very strong this year, so I’m looking forward to a good run this weekend. ”
Rewinding back two years ago, Miller claimed the ARCA SIM Factory pole award before leading a race high 83 laps before settling for third. Miller has had time to reflect on that day and knows he still as some unfinished business at the Joliet, Illinois speed plant.
“I was so close to that win, it was a heartbreak, ” explained Miller. “However, it was still a good run and helped us clinch the ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie-of-the-Year award. The competition was very stiff in 2005 and it’s a lot more competitive this year. I know I have to be on top of my game this weekend and working with the team, I think we can put this team in victory lane for the second time this season. ”
Speaking of victory lane, Miller offers his insight about how important another victory would be to his resume.
“Winning is always important, ” Miller sounded. “It takes a lot of elements to win though. You need a great team, a good car, a powerful motor and even a little luck. We had that a combo a bunch in 2005; the components are the same this year and I’m hoping we can rekindle that flame this weekend at Chicagoland. ”
Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for Country Joe Racing commented on Miller’s bid this weekend at Chicagoland. “Joey Miller is a logical choice for Chicagoland. His stats from the race two years ago are impressive. I know he is staying completely focused on the job at hand this weekend and with his insight and input we have a chance to return Country Joe Racing to victory lane on Saturday. ”
