Jonathan Allard and Williams Motorsports scored another top five finish with the Golden State Challenge Series Saturday night at the Ocean Speedway during the 10th round of competition for the traveling series. An engine problem, however, forced the team to swap cars for Ocean Speedway and go back to the older Maxim that was utilized in Chico a few weeks back. Jonathan fought the car during the 30 lapper which was run on very dry and tough surface, but he was able to bring the car home in the top five for the third consecutive race with the Golden State Challenge Series.
Very strong winds during the day on Saturday greeted teams to the Ocean Speedway and it took its toll on the 1/4 mile bullring. Jonathan came out fifth in the qualifying order and ripped off a 12.472 which placed the Williams Motorsports, GT Trends, K & N Filters, Weld Racing No. 0 second quick. He lined up sixth in the second heat race and moved his way up to a second place finish to put the Red Line Oil, Graph X Designs, Chris Jones Racing, BR Motorsports, Maxim Chassis No. 0 into the night’s dash.
