The talent pool within the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts continued to shine as the 2007 Racing Season gets underway. The crown jewel of the ASALMS, the Challenge Division has already opened up their 2007 season, now it’s the ASALMS Southern Division’s turn as a large crop of teenagers and Rookie competitors dot the 40-car entry list for the 2007 Opener in the ASALMS South.
Altus, Oklahoma teenager, 15-year-old Keaton Feller has signed on with Rising Star Driver Development and plans on a full run in the ASALMS Southern Division for the Rookie of the Year title in 2007 beginning in Bronson, Florida this upcoming weekend.
Feller has already began his 2007 season as the Sooner State teenager competed in four of the six races held for ASALMS Type Crate Late Models during the 41st annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at the New Smyrna (FL) Speedway in Samsula, Florida in February. The 2007 version of Florida Speedweeks saw Feller’s car in victory lane on opening night with RSDD Mentor and veteran ASALMS competitor, Jack Smith behind the wheel.
The remainder of Speedweeks saw Feller take over the controls and finished a solid ninth in the final ASALMS Type Crate Late Models Division Points Standings despite only racing in four events in an effort to get dialed in with his new ride in preparation for the 2007 ASALMS Southern Division Schedule. Overall, Feller accumulated One Top Five and Three Top 10s during Speedweeks
