With the 2007 season just completed Grandview Speedway management was quick to announce limited rule changes for 2008 and beyond.
“Though the changes are only minor we wanted to let the competitors know early, ” said track operator Bruce Rogers. “This will give the racers plenty of time to get prepared for the new season. ”
An important change in the general rules is that the driver helmet standards have been updated to recommend that all racers should be using at least a Snell SA2005 rated helmet.
In the NASCAR Modified division 2350 pounds will be the minimum weight allowed regardless of what engine combination is being used.
The NASCAR Late Model changes include:
* Rear deck and spoiler height combined may not exceed 46 inches. This is a clarification of an existing rule.
* Fuel must be siphoned from the top of the fuel tank. Gravity feed is not permitted.
* A one-way check valve in the fuel tank vent is required.
* Aluminum and steel wheels are permitted, however a racecar using steel wheels will have a minimum weight of 2300 pounds.
* Beadlocks are required only on the right rear wheel.
