The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is set for a huge month of May with four race events that will pay out a total of over $280,000 in prize money to the participants. The series is already off to a fast start in 2007 with eight different winners in the first eight races contested.
The month of May for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series gets underway with a visit to the Sherri Heckenast promoted Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. The Third Annual “99” will see the winner taking home $24,999 with an even more impressive $1,999 just to start the race.
LifeLong Locks Time Trials and along with Hawk Brake and Quarter Master sponsored heat races will take place on Friday Night with the Mason Racin’ Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks sponsored B-Mains kicking off Saturday Night’s racing activities which will take place before the 99 lap main event takes to the track. Previous winners of the “99” event include Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and Two-time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL who won the event in 2006.
The week after the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visits Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway the series heads to the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO for the Superchips “Diamond Nationals” on Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th. The $25,000 to win event will also have a $10,000 bonus up for grabs for the winner if they have competed in every 2007 series event through the first four months of this season meaning the winner could pocket $35,000 for their trip to the state of the art racing facility.
