“We qualified 12th and we were running well, ” was how Dominick Casola started to describe the Sunday Winchester ARCA 200. “And then our luck just seemed to turn sour. ”
Casola had moved the Andy Belmont owned Ford into the top ten early in the race when he got caught up in a multi-car wreck that damaged the radiator and that hurt the motor. The result was an early departure from the ARCA RE/MAX Series race.
The team was credited with a 25th place finish and 82 laps completed.
“I loved the track. (Winchester is a half-mile, banked asphalt oval. ) Andy (Belmont) is a great driver coach and he told me how to run the high banks, ” said the Holmdel, NJ racer. “It is a huge advantage to have someone like Andy to show me the way around the tracks I have not been to before.
