The 20 lap, 18-car IMCA Modified main saw Anthony Otken get into turn 1 first, but it was Glen Derks II taking the point out of turn 2. Jimmy Tidwell got along side Otken on lap 1 taking second, then looking inside Derks for lead. Tidwell lost ground on lap 2 as Otken, Allen Waltermire and Pat McGuire got by. Mcguire got past both Otken and Waltermire on lap 3 and was quickly on Derks for the lead. Just as McGuire was side by side with Derks for the lead, yellow waved when Jason Hubert and Wayne Walker got together in the pack.
On the restart, McGuire ducked low in turn 1 and came out of turn 2 with the lead, while Keith White grabbed third from Waltermire. White snagged second from Derks on lap 5 with Jason Hoffman, Waltermire and Derks three wide on lap 6 for fourth. White was running down McGuire and got a the break he needed as yellow waved for continued contact between Wesley Hamilton and Danny Gribble that ended with both going off turn 1 and both getting black flagged.
