“I’m looking forward to returning to Altamont this week, ” said Moses Smith, driver of the no. 18 HASA Pool Products White Flyer Chevrolet for Bill McAnally Racing. The Dan Gamel RV Centers “200” will be the last point race of the 2007 NASCAR Grand National Division West Series season. Smith, a rookie driver in the series for BMR is currently twelfth in the chase for the series championship and looking to record his first West Series win.
“It’s has been a long exciting season, ” continued Smith, “and I’m looking forward to running Altamont one more time before the season is over. The no. 18 HASA Pool Products team has been working hard in preparation for this race, as it is our last chance to qualify for the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown. ” One of the biggest changes in the Showdown format will be the procedure for drivers to be “locked into” the event. Any driver who wins a Grand National race overall in 2007 will automatically qualify for the race. “We are well over due for our chance to stand on top of the podium. ”
Smith and the no. 18 HASA team will take the green flag Saturday September 15th at 7:30 pm at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy California.
