Busch made it three victories in a row at Texas with a dominating performance Saturday, leading a race-record 178 of 200 laps to win the O’Reilly 300. He also become the first polesitter to win a Nationwide race on the 1 1/2-mile high-banked track.
Busch finished 1.447 seconds ahead of Tony Stewart, who made a late charge from 14th with four new tires after a caution on lap 188. Brad Keselowski, forced to start 42nd in a backup car, was third.
“It may have looked easy, but it wasn’t,” said Busch, driving the No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota. “I’m ready for a nap.”
Busch will sleep well after putting on another rerun of the Kyle Busch Show for the 85,200 fans.
Runner-up Tony Stewart called Busch “bad fast,” and third-place finisher Brad Keselowski said he was “unstoppable.”
