Juan Pablo Montoya has won the first pole of his NASCAR career.

Montoya ran a lap at 188.171 mph Saturday to qualify first at Talladega Superspeedway. Greg Biffle qualified second.

Third on the starting grid will be Montoya’s teammate, Martin Truex Jr.

The rest of the starting 10 will be Sam Hornish Jr., Clint Bowyer, Regan Smith, Mark Martin, Scott Speed, Brad Keselowski and David Ragan. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 11th.
