The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts has been getting hammered by Mother Nature lately. Not only was the ASALMS Northern Division’s second event in Morris, Illinois postponed due to Rain, the ASALMS Southern Division’s third race of the season, scheduled for this Saturday June 2, 2007 was also postponed due to the raging wildfires and then eventually Tropical Storm Barry that went through Northern Florida and Southern Georgia.
The South Georgia 125 has been rescheduled and will now be a part of a busy weekend in Mid-September as the ASALMS Southern Division will invade the South Georgia (GA) Motorsports Park, located North of Valdosta in Cecil, Georgia on Friday September 14, 2007 for what will now be the Sixth Race of the 2007 season.
Then the teams will convoy North up I-75 making their way to the New Senoia (GA) Raceway located Southwest of Atlanta in Senoia, Georgia the next day on Saturday September 15, 2007 for the Seventh event of the 2007 season; The Senoia 125 to complete a doubleheader weekend in the Peach State and in all total, 250 laps of ASALMS Feature Racing!
Now the ASALMS Southern Division contingent will have plenty of time in between events. The South teams had a seven week waiting period between the first and second shows of 2007 and with the postponement of the South Georgia event, they will now have another seven weeks in between the second and third events of the season!
The third race of the 2007 Racing Season in the ASALMS Southern Division will commence at the historic New Smyrna (FL) Speedway located Eight miles West of New Smyrna Beach and 15 miles South of Daytona Beach in Samsula, Florida on Saturday June 23, 2007 in the running of the Florida 100. Joining the ASALMS South teams will be the popular Southern Sportsmen Series. The Entry Form for the Florida 100 will be available on Thursday June 7, 2007.
