A new Stock Car Racing Series called the Ontario Sportsman Series (OSS for short) was unveiled here today. It is spearheaded by Barrie racer Ron Lethbridge and is designed to replace the CASCAR Sportsman Series, which was cancelled when CASCAR was purchased by NASCAR.
Drivers, teams and track promoter Glenn Lloyd of Sunset Speedway met in Milton to discuss rules, procedures, membership fees, etc. Potential Tracks for the series so far are Sunset, Mosport, Peterborough, Sauble, Cayuga, Grand Bend and possibly Varney and Ottawa. The Series will be run as a club with executive to be elected at the next meeting which will be at 11am on Saturday March 31, 2007 at Hot Rods Restaurant in Milton, ON.
