Scott James was the big winner among nine dirt Late Model racers who took advantage of VP Racing Fuels’ contingency program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this season. The awards were worth $100 in VP fuel to the highest finishing VP-powered driver in each feature event, with a Grand Prize awarded to the driver who won the most contingencies during the course of the season. In addition to winning ten of the $100 awards during the 2007 season, James also won the Grand Prize—5 drums of Late Model Plus, VP’s premier fuel for dirt track racing, with a retail value in excess of $2500!
“It’s really great to win this award from VP Racing Fuels, ” said James. “They make the best fuel on the planet and I’ve been using it for a long time, maybe longer than anyone in dirt track racing. VP has been real helpful to me and to the sport of dirt Late Model racing and I thank them for it. ”
Other drivers who won VP’s contingency awards this season, each of whom use VP’s Late Model Plus racing fuel, include: Jimmy Owens – 8; Jimmy Mars and Brian Birkhofer – 3 each; Eddie Carrier, Jr, Brady Smith and Mike Marlar – 2 each; Darrell Lanigan and Jeep Van Wormer – 1 each.
“We congratulate Scott and all these other drivers on their accomplishments this year, ” said Steve Scheidker, VP’s Marketing Director. “They all work so hard and we’re glad to do what we can to recognize their efforts. This award is but one example of the broad-based support VP has consistently provided to racers through contingency programs and other sponsorships since it started manufacturing racing fuel in 1975. ”
