ASA Late Model Series Northern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts Points Leader, Trent Snyder and his underfunded Dondelinger Chevrolet Racing Team have refused to give up all season long despite a limited budget, limited crew, and limited resources.
All the hard work by the whole team that saw them lose a car in Michigan during the season, has been paying off in a huge way and now the Ironton, Minnesota driver is one race away from his first ASALMS championship and proving once and for all that a team doesn’t need unlimited pocket books to become champions in the ASALMS!
The 2007 ASALMS Northern Division Season Championships / Oktoberfest 100 highlights the Saturday portion of the 38th annual Oktoberfest Weekend at the LaCrosse (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway, located East of the Minnesota/Wisconsin state line, and East of LaCrosse in West Salem, Wisconsin on Saturday October 6, 2007.
Heading into the 10th and final points race of the season for the ASALMS Northern Division, Snyder leads Indianapolis, Indiana veteran, Peter Cozzolino by just 21 points, and also leads home track favorite from near-by Eau Claire, Wisconsin Charlie Menard by 31 markers. All Snyder has to do is stay ahead of Cozzolino and Menard, or finish no worse than Third in the 100-lap Feature to secure the Championship.
“We’re super pumped about this whole season, the ASALMS has been great, and I think we have great chance to win this championship. ” An excited Snyder exclaimed as he prepares for the biggest race of his racing career. “We’ve shown all season long that you don’t need a big budget and a full time staff to run this series and be competitive. We’re staring straight at a potential title and that’s a lot to be proud of. ” He stated.
