Promoters From Thirteen States Registered For Promoter’s Summit At Motorsports 2008

With the first Promoter’s Summit still more than two months away there are already promoters from thirteen states that have registered to be part of the two day event that will be part of the 22nd annual Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels Race Car Show. The three day show, January 18-20, featuring the two day Promoter’s Summit will take place at the huge Atlantic City Convention Hall.

The Summit is designed to bring promoters from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States together to share ideas and be part of the information filled seminars on a variety of subjects.

One seminar that surely will attract a lot of attention is Race Track Safety which will include the New Jersey State Racing Control Unit, NASCAR racer Randy LaJoie, Hall of Fame sprint car racer Doug Wolfgang and others. Shane Stewart of the North Carolina Motorsports Association will deliver a “white paper” on community relations and how local short tracks need to show what they do for the community.

A variety of well known media people will be on hand to discuss how promoters should be working with ALL the media.

Racetrack Legal Issues will be covered by attorneys representing Wiley, Malehorn Sirota and Raynes.

Promoters are invited to bring their questions for free legal advice.

Area Auto Racing News columnist Guy Smith, who has visited more than 1000 racetracks, will talk about What The Fans Are Thinking.

Kevin Spiddle of SpeedNet Direct will present an informative session on track management software. NASCAR’s Jim Hunter will be the guest speaker as part of the NASCAR Breakfast on Saturday, January 19th.

There will be additional seminars on racing insurance, what announcers should be doing, sponsorship, scoring, a session on the racer’s viewpoint and more.

Registration for promoters and a guest is free and includes admission to the Promoter’s Summit, Motorsports 2008 and the Friday night indoor auto racing events at nearby Boardwalk Hall. Free registrations are being accepted until December 1st and after that date there will be a registration fee.

“We are really excited about the support being shown the Summit, ” said Summit organizer Ernie Saxton. “I really appreciate the advice that is being offered by many of the veteran promoters and several have offered to participate. ” Saxton can be reached at 215.752.7797.
