Ryan Glenski drove his No. 28 RG Excavating car to the pole in Saturday’s Allison Legacy Series race at Orange County Speedway, then wound up the day with a top five finish.
“The car was good in qualifying, ” said the 14-year-old second- generation driver. “I didn’t expect it to be that good. I qualified on the pole, about. 05 ahead of Michael Cooper, ” he added.
The race’s first half was relatively uneventful, with Glenski holding the lead “to about lap 30, when we had a caution, then I got passed after the caution, ” he concluded.
Ryan went on to a strong fourth-place finish in the Allison Legacy Series 50-lap race over the 3/8-mile track. His previous best finish in the series was third-place, in the season opener, at the same track.
Currently, Glenski holds sixth place in points and is firmly in control of the rookie chase for 2007. His other racing activities have resulted in 20 wins already this year.
Ryan is being helped in his career by training from Future Stars in Racing Academy.
