Ryan Lawler has had a great start to the 2007 PASS South Super Late Model Series season. At Hickory Motor Speedway, Lawler had the dominant car and took a convincing victory, marking his second-career PASS South win and his second-straight at Hickory Motor Speedway, dating back to the 2006 season.
Lawler then backed that up with a win in the South Carolina Clash at Anderson Motor Speedway. That win didn’t come nearly as easy, but the 20-year-old was able to hold off a local favorite and a Southern Super Late Model veteran to take back-to-back wins to start out the 2007 season.
On Saturday night June 2, 2007, it looked like Lawler might just be on his way to going three-for-three. After winning the Dash and starting on the pole, Lawler looked to be one of the cars to beat in the “Orange Blossom Special” at Orange County Speedway. However, a late-race flat tire looked to keep Lawler out of victory lane. But a fresh tire and several late-race cautions allowed Lawler to mow his way through the field and finish second in the event.
The next event for Lawler will be back in ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division competition at the Berlin (MI) Raceway located West of Grand Rapids up in Marne, Michigan for the Sixth Race of the Fifth Anniversary 2007 Season; The 1st annual Tradition 200.
