Sean Murphy turned the fastest time and set a new track record in qualifying Saturday night for the ASI LIMITED 100 at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Murphy’s record time of 21.960 beat out the old record set by Landon Cassill, who’s now under contract with NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports.
Murphy pulled a 6-car inversion, which ironically placed teammate Butch Miller on the pole. Miller led the early laps of the race and Sean Murphy quickly moved up from 6th to 2nd. The veteran-rookie pair pulled away from the field.
