Racing action returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night, May 5 with the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks. Last Saturday night, Steve Wilbur picked up his first win of the season over Smokey Snelbaker in the 20-lap Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature, Carl Billet won his second in a row in the Late Model division and Gary Johnston won the Street Stock main event.
The winner of the Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature will collect $1,400, the Late Model winner will receive $750 and the Street Stock victor will get $400. All feature events will be 20 laps.
Handicapping for all three divisions begins this week. Handicapping for both the heat and features will be based on the total points average for the season with a twelve position handicap for the feature events. A one race penalty will be in effect for any driver missing the prior race at SSP. The winner of the prior week will also start 12th regardless of their point average if they qualify in a handicapping position in their heat race.
