This Saturday, June 30, Stock Car Saturday Night Racing returns to SSP with a the popular Great American School Bus Race along with Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and Four Cylinder Stock Cars. There will also be complimentary School Bus rides around the track for fans of all ages at 6:10 p. m. to 6:30 p. m.
Angel Hunt of Wellsville was the name drawn last weekend to receive the “ride of a lifetime” in the Superior Home Race Car Ride-Along with Ray Broderick. She will receive a few laps in the passenger seat of Ray’s Xtreme Stock Car. Every week one ticket will be drawn from the adult general admission tickets to win a ride for the week after.
Last Saturday night found Steve Billet, son of current SSP point leader Carl Billet, picking up his first career win in the 20-lap Late Model feature with a last lap pass of Jeremy Knoll. Paul Morgan won the Street Stock feature event over the “new father, ” Wes Alleman. Sam Rial passed current point leader Michael Goodwin on a restart with two laps to go to win the Xtreme Stock Car feature event. Daryl Sipe picked up the in the York Haven Auto Sales Mini Van feature. Kendra Knaub led the most laps for the win in the Women on Wheels (W. O.W. ) Stock Car Summer Championship. Ricky Hippensteel won the won XSC Rookie Rumble race.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night will be Adults and Teens (13 & older) $12.00; Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.
The pit gates will open 4:30 p. m. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p. m. Warmups begin at 6:30 p. m. with qualifying races at 7:00 p. m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
There will be a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season for great prizes. Last season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30 in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
