Race Number Two of the Fifth Anniversary 2007 Racing Season in “America s Premiere Short Track Series” is here. The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts Challenge Division headlines the weekend as the ASALMS crews, drivers, fans, officials, and teams are on the road and heading out to Music City for the weekend.
The Cars and Stars of the ASALMS Challenge Division will focus their efforts on Race Number Two on the 2007 Schedule. The ASALMS Challenge Division will close out the month of March with second race of the 2007 campaign; The Music City Spring Clash 200.
The ASALMS Challenge Division will be a part of the 2nd annual Spring Clash Weekend, which kicks off the 2007 season at the Music City (TN) Motorplex, located in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday March 30-31, and April 1, 2007. The ASALMS Challenge Division will headline the weekend on Friday and Saturday March 30-31, 2007.
Heading into the Second of 11 Points Races, 12 Overall on the 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Calender; Buda, Texas pilot, Colt James, the winner of the 2007 Season Opener, the 2nd annual Alamo 200 in San Antonio, Texas will carry the ASALMS Challenge Division Points lead over Eddie Hoffman by 15 markers (200-185) while Sean Murphy leads fellow freshman, Andy Hanson by just five points (170-165) in the chase for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year championship title chase.
Joining the series “Where Champions Race” this weekend will be the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modifieds Tour and CRA Super Series, who finish off the action packed weekend with twin 150-lap Features on Sunday. Overall 500 laps of Feature racing will give the great fans in the Volunteer State plenty of action to kick off their 2007 season. The Music City Spring Clash 200 weekend begins on Friday morning as Rig Parking begins at 9:15am. The Registration and the Pit Gates both open up at 10:30am while Practice Tech and Safety Inspection gets going at 11:00am. The ASALMS Driver s Meeting begins at 1:00pm and will be followed by brief Crew Chiefs and Spotters Meetings immediately after the Drivers Meeting.
The ASALMS Challenge Division Cars and Stars take to the fast 0.596 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval for continuous practice beginning at 2:00pm with periodic breaks throughout the afternoon. ASALMS Tech and Safety Inspection, as well as ASALMS Fuel and Tire sales close at 5:00pm while Friday Practice will end at 6:00pm ending Day One of the Music City Spring Clash 200 Weekend for the ASALMS Challenge Division.
