The opening night of racing at the Susquehanna Speedway Park for the 2007 season will be on Saturday night, April 14 with the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks. The first of six Young Guns Street Stock 5-lap dash races presented by Clean Technologies will also take place on Saturday night. The dash features all drivers ages 21 and younger.
The winner of the Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature will collect $1,400, the Late Model winner will receive $750 and the Street Stock victor will get $400. All feature events will be 20 laps.
The 2007 season for the Super Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks will prove to be one of the most exciting ever. More than $20,000 in cash awards for the point fund will be up for grabs for the top twenty positions in all three divisions. The Champion of the Super Sportsman will receive $2,000 for the top prize, $1,000 will go to the Late Model Champions and $750 to the Street Stock Champion. Twentieth spot in each division will pay $200. Drivers will also have the opportunity to exchange their point fund earnings for a complimentary season pit pass for the 2008 season valued at more than $475.00. In order to collect the point fund awards and honors at the season-ending awards ceremony, the driver must compete in at least 80% of the events held on the 23 race schedule.
