The ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Presented by GM Performance Parts, is still in action yet in the 2007 season down South. With the ASALMS Challenge and Northern Division 2007 Points Seasons now completed, ASALMS teams from the Midwest may still be looking for a place to go to get another event or three in before preparations begin for the 2008 seasons.
There are two points races left in the ASALMS Southern Division beginning this weekend at the historic Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway, located Northwest of Charlotte and just outside of Hickory in Newton, North Carolina. With its’ history and tradition that has spanned over 57 seasons, the ASALMS Southern Division teams, as well as a few ASALMS Northern Division invaders have had this race circled on there calenders since the beginning of the year.
The Cars and Stars of the ASALMS Southern Division will invade the famed 0.363 Mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval of the Hickory Motor Speedway on Friday and Saturday October 20, 2007 for the running of the Meet the Stars 125. The 10th race of the 2007 season in the ASALMS Southern Division.
Joining the ASALMS Southern Division in the Tar Heel State will be the Carolina Vintage Stock Car Series and the Legendary Flathead Ford Series with each division showcasing cars the type of which raced in the early days at Hickory Motor Speedway.
